Vienna, a city steeped in history and culture, once again became the canvas for artistic innovation with Teresa Mar’s remarkable projection on the iconic Karlskirche. This spectacular display was not just a projection; it was a visual metamorphosis—a journey of hidden messages and symbolism, unveiled through repetition.
Teresa Mar’s concept was a perfect fit for Whitsuntide, celebrating the symbolism of the Holy Spirit as a white dove. This theme of metamorphosis was brought to life through a delicate interplay of light and shadow, revealing a series of powerful symbols. From crosses and praying hands to pomegranates and passion flowers, each element held its own significance.
Covering a vast area of 3000 square meters, this ambitious project required the world’s most powerful projectors, each boasting 12,000-watt lamps. These technological marvels, combined with adapted film scrollers, ensured every detail was perfectly synchronized, creating a seamless and mesmerizing visual narrative.
Teresa Mar’s work on the Karlskirche was a testament to the power of art and technology to transcend boundaries. It invited viewers to explore layers of history, spirituality, and symbolism. Pronorm is proud to have played a role in bringing this magnificent vision to life, showcasing the endless possibilities when art and technology join forces.
