This year, GLOW Oirschot 2024 brought light art closer to home, literally and metaphorically. From November 7th to 9th, the picturesque town of Oirschot, with its historic streets and charming squares, became a glowing canvas for stories told through light, poetry, and sound. The theme, “The Stream,” explored movement in all its forms (as a river, as a crowd, as an idea) flowing through the town and into the imagination of every visitor.
Â
A Town Transformed by Light
From the radiant Basilica Square to the dreamy “Dwaalstroom” installation at Wilhelminakade, GLOW Oirschot invited visitors into an immersive experience that combined light art, interactive storytelling, and cultural heritage.
Each location on the route became part of a greater stream, a visual and emotional journey meandering through parks, squares, and chapels. Visitors were not just spectators; they became part of the flow.

Highlights That Lit Up the Night
At Standaardplein, “Step into the Light” invited guests to move through illuminated paths, creating a living, breathing art piece. Meanwhile, the windows of Oirsprong shimmered with color and creativity, blending architecture and projection in playful ways.
But it was the Boterkerkje, a small chapel on Vrijthof, that offered one of the most poetic moments of the festival. Here, artist Maartje Meerman presented “Stroom”, a stunning analog projection artwork created with a hand-painted slide and a vintage Pani projector. Paired with a haunting soundscape by Yung Waste and evocative poetry by Roel Timmers, the work merged perception and reality, stillness and motion — in perfect harmony with the theme The Stream.
Â
Dwaalstroom: A Stream of Stories
At Wilhelminakade, the Oirschots Collectief presented “Dwaalstroom”, a moving light installation that told the story of migration, memory, and belonging. Through waves of glowing light and a poetic voiceover, the piece invited visitors to pause, sit within the installation, and listen. A stream becomes a metaphor: for travel, for discovery, for survival. The message was both timely and timeless.
The journey ended in a celestial setting, where children’s artwork lit up a chapel space, a hopeful, heartwarming conclusion to a festival full of imagination and meaning.

GLOW That Resonates
GLOW Oirschot 2024 wasn’t just about beautiful visuals. It was about connection, between people, places, and stories. It reminded us that light can move like water, tell stories like poetry, and inspire like art. We are incredibly proud to have contributed to this edition, helping light art find its way into the heart of a community.
Whether you followed the glowing path for the first time or have returned year after year, we hope you felt the current, The Stream.
